- To apply for a housing loan you will need to file an application at the Housing Office in your area.
- You will need to provide these following documents:
- Copy of passport and ID card of the applicant and spouse.
- An official salary certificate from the employer.
- Craftsmen should provide an income estimation certificate approved by the Sheikh and certified by the Wali.
- A copy of the marriage contract and birth certificates of children.
- Acknowledgment of not having any other source of income.
- Bank statement for six months upon application submission and upon reaching the turn.
- Your application is reviewed. Rejection occurs in two cases :
- If you have submitted an incorrect data about your condition or deliberately concealed the data that should be submitted
- If you caused a delay of work without any excuse for a period exceeding sixty days from the date of operation order, in the cases of the housing assistance or a loan.
- When you receive the initial approval , you must provide these following documents:
- A copy of the title deed and survey drawing and recent maps of the dwelling certified by the competent authorities provided that it should be approval by the ministry.
- A valid construction permit for the house required to be constructed or expanded or completed, or for completing a the construction of a house to be purchased.
- Three quotations from contractors certified by the Ministry.
- Legitimate testimony from a notary whereby the warrantor ; in the cases stipulated in Article (20) of the Social Housing Law; shall undertake to pay the loan installments as jointly liable with the loan applicant.
- A recent salary certificate of the loan applicant and a copy of his identity card and passport.
- A letter from the consultant whereby determines the fees in return of his supervision to the project implementation
- Once you have submitted all the required documents, a housing loan in the amount of twenty thousand riyals paid in a monthly installments not exceeding (25%) of your total income may be granted to you.

EligibilityEdit
To apply for a housing loan, the applicant must meet all of these following requirements:
- Should be of an Omani nationality
- Must be not less than twenty-three years of age, whether a man or a woman unless he proves that he is married and his age not less than twenty-one years or that he is the only breadwinner for his family when applying.
- Applicant or spouse should not be an owner of a house adequate for living or had disposed a house at any type of legal actions in order to benefit from the provisions of this law.
- Applicant or spouse had not benefited previously by getting a housing unit or housing assistance or a loan in accordance with the provisions of the Social Housing Law, or any laws or other regulations facilitating to build a house or obtaining it.
- Applicant should not be one of the employees of an entity that has a housing loan regulation for its staff, with the exception of the retired employees who had never obtained a housing loan from his previous work entity .
- applicant or spouse should not be an owner of any real estate or land, equivalent to the value of the housing unit or housing assistance or loan with the exclusion that the purpose of application is to execute a project on the same site.
- The total monthly income of the loan applicant should be between R.O (301) three hundred and one Riyals to R.O (500) five hundred Riyals when registering the application, and the total monthly income of the loan applicant should not exceed R.O (600) Six hundred Riyals per month when reaching his turn.
- The craftsmen income shall be estimated by calculating the average monthly income in one year provided that it should be within the limits of the amount referred to when the turn reach them.
A housing loan is granted in these following cases:
- A Worker who is married or breadwinner of a family.
- A divorced working woman incubator to children under a court ruling.
- A working widow, who has children under her care.
- Unmarried working woman and the only breadwinner for her family.
- A working woman who is married to non-Omani and has minor children living with her permanently and continuously in the Sultanate , provided that the monthly income of both spouses do not exceed (RO 400/-) Four Hundred Riyals

A Housing Loan is an interest-free loan granted by the Ministry of Housing for limited income citizens. This loan is paid by easy monthly installments not exceeding (25%) of the monthly income and without any interest, provided that the total monthly income of the applicant should is between (RO 301/-) to (R.O 400) on the day the application was filed, and not exceeding (R.O 500/-) Five Hundred Riyals at reaching his turn. In case of the work of applicant’s wife , the total monthly income of both shall not exceed R.O (600/-) six hundred Riyals.
