Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Ancestor Pension at the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) (Parents of Deceased Worker), the applicant has to approach the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers – link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The fee for this Ancestor pension is free of cost.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgement receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- IMSS will review the application and verify the provided information. This process may take some time, so be patient.
- Once the application is processed, they will receive a notification from IMSS regarding the status of the pension application.
- If the application is approved, they will begin receiving the Ancestor Pension payments. These payments are typically made periodically, and the amount may depend on various factors, including the deceased worker's contribution history.
- This entire process can be completed within a few weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
