Apply In-Person:
- To Request for Cancellation of Bill of Entry in person, the applicant has to approach the Mauritius Revenue Authority Contact link or Contact link
- The Applicant must download the application form from this website link or the applicant can get the application form from the relevant authority.
- The Request for Cancellation of Bill of Entry must be submitted within 30 days from the date of lodgment of the Bill of Entry.
- After downloading the application form, applicants must fill in the form with the required details such as name of the applicant, contact details, and details of the bill of entry.
- Applicants must attach the documents required along with the application form such as the original bill of entry, invoice, packing list and they can be found under the “Required Document” section of this page.
- The completed application form and all the required documents must be submitted to the relevant authorities.
- The relevant authority will review the application and based on their assessment, will decide on the appropriate course of action to take.
- Upon review of their request, the applicant will receive a confirmation email or SMS informing them of the status of their request.
- The applicant must pay the applicable fees as per the scale of fees prescribed by the relevant authority.
- A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
- The Relevant Authority will issue an Order of Cancellation if the Application is Approved, thus ending the process that would otherwise have been necessary to complete the task.
- The processing time for a Request for Cancellation of Bill of Entry is usually within 1 to 2 working days from the time of request.

- Request for Cancellation of Bill of Entry in Mauritius is available to all importers and exporters who have filed a Bill of Entry (BE) with the Mauritius Customs and Excise Department. This includes both local and foreign entities.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- The Request for Cancellation of Bill of Entry is used by businesses to cancel any pending import shipments that have been declared in a Bill of Entry.
- This request has been used to inform the Customs Department that the goods are no longer required or have been sold and are no longer of any use to the business.
- The request must be submitted prior to the goods being imported, as it is not possible to cancel an entry after the goods have already been imported.
