ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Renewal of Certificate of Registration with Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
  2. The address and contact details of the NIMASA can be found in the following link: contact link
  3. Visit the office with a Formal letter of application made by the registered or authorized representative with regard to the Renewal of Certificate of Registration.
  4. Also, obtain an application form for the renewal of Registration from the relevant department.
  5. Make sure that you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  6. Complete the application form as required with necessary details and relevant information.
  7. After completing the application form, attach the required documents with the application form.
  8. Then, submit to the relevant authority at the office and also pay the required amount of fees as directed by the officials.
  9. Once all the processes are completed, concerned officials will approve the application and proceed with the further processes.
  10. If the Registration Certificate/document is ready to be collected, office will inform the applicant to collect it through any applicable means.

As per Nigerian Shipping Regulations, it is necessary that a ship/shipping company owner is keeping the Registration for each and every vessel he/she has in possession, updated and renewed, to keep utilizing the registration.
