ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for renewing an Air Transport License in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

  3. Visit the NCAA office with an application letter made in writing and duly signed by a person authorised by the applicant to request for renewal of Air Transport Licence.
  4. Obtain an application form for renewing an Air Transport License from the relevant department.
  5. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Complete the form as required with relevant details under respective sections. After completing the application form, attach the required documents with the completed form.
  7. Pay the required non-refundable processing fee to the Authority as stipulated and also attach the receipt of payment with the application form.
  8. Also, the applicant will be required to liaise with the Airport Service Providers and/ or Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) regarding approval of its home or operational base.
  9. Then, proceed to submit the application package to the Director General at the office in person for further processes.
  10. After submission, the completed form and corresponding documents will be put into further verification and validation processes.
  11. Once all the processes got completed, the authorities will make necessary steps for the renewed license issuance process.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any Air Transport License holder, whose license has been expired and needs renewal, can apply.
  • The applicant must have paid all the required fees, charges, fares and tariffs as stipulated by the NCAA.


FeesEdit

  • Non-refundable processing fee: N1,000,000
  • After receiving the license, an annual utilization fee of N200,000 should be paid.


ValidityEdit

The validity of a renewed ATL shall be five (5) years.

InstructionsEdit

  • The application letter for the grant of ATL must contain the following particulars: Name and address of applicant, Type(s) of air services to be provided, proposed operational base of applicant, Details of proposed routes to be operated where applicable, Number and types of aircraft to be utilized and Time and frequency of the services.
  • Evidence of utilization of ATL indicating the following details: Number and type(s) of aircraft in use, Insurance of aircraft in use, including passenger, cargo and third party, Routes operated and Total number of passengers, cargo and mail carried during the period of operation of the expiring licence.
