Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Permit or License for the Sale of Chemical Fertilizers to Wholesalers and Retailers in person, the applicant should contact Mauritius Agricultural Services. Contact link
  2. Applicant must visit the Mauritius of Government website and download the application form from this link- link  or Applicants should obtain the application form from the authority.
  3. After downloading the application form as a PDF document, the applicant must fill it in accurately or alternatively in the application form.
  4. The applicant will also need to provide copies of valid documents such as a valid import permit and they can be found under the ‘Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Then the applicant should visit the Ministry’s office and pay the necessary application fee at the cash desk of the office as mentioned in the “Fees” section below and obtain the payment receipt.
  6. Upon making the payment, submit the application file along with the payment receipt to the official at the service desk of the Agricultural Chemistry Division.
  7. Once all the documents and applications are submitted, the Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security will review the application.
  8. If the application is completed as required, the officer will issue the applicant an acknowledgment receipt with the application details.
  9. Then the division will schedule an inspection date to inspect the applicant proposed facility for storing the chemical fertilizers.
  10. On the scheduled date, the government inspector from the Agricultural Chemistry Division will visit the applicant’s proposed facility and conduct the inspection according to the standards set by the division and the inspector will write a report of the inspection findings.
  11. The inspection report will be submitted to the licensing committee of the Agricultural Chemistry Division
  12. The committee will evaluate the report along with the application and if the facility meets the required merits for storing the chemical fertilizers and the application is completed as required, the application will be approved for licensing.
  13. The applicant will then be informed of the approval in writing and required to visit the Agricultural Chemistry Division to collect the license.
  14. The applicant should re-visit the Agricultural Chemistry Division office and issue the acknowledgment receipt to the official at the service desk.
  15. The official will verify the receipt and issue the license for the Sale of Chemical Fertilizers.
  16. The processing time for this procedure takes about two weeks.

EligibilityEdit

  • To obtain a permit or license for the sale of chemical fertilizers to wholesalers and retailers in Mauritius, the applicant must meet certain criteria.
