Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Bond to be Subscribed by Applicant for a Permit or License or for Transfer of Permit or License in person, the applicant has to approach the Mauritius Revenue Authority Contact link
2. Applicant should obtain the application form from the authority.
3. The applicant has to provide the necessary information in the form, such as the name and address of the insurer or the bank, the amount of the bond, the period for which the bond is valid, etc.
4. The applicant needs to fill up the relevant application form and submit the same along with the required documents, such as Identity Card, Company Registration Certificate and they can be found under the “Required Document” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to submit the bond along with the application form and the relevant documents, and the Mauritius Revenue Authority will then process the application.
6. If the Mauritius Revenue Authority is satisfied with the application, it will issue a letter of understanding to the applicant, stating the terms and conditions of the bond.
7. The applicant must approach the insurer or the bank and purchase the bond.
8. Then the applicant is required to pay the prescribed fees and any other applicable taxes within the stipulated period.
9. A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
10. The insurer or the bank then must issue the bond in the name of the Mauritius Revenue Authority and the applicant.
11. The applicant must submit the bond to the Mauritius Revenue Authority, along with the letter of understanding. The Mauritius Revenue Authority will then process the application and issue the permit or license for transfer.
12. The processing time for these applications is two to four weeks.

• Any person who is above 18 years of age, is considered eligible for obtaining a bond to be subscribed by the applicant for a permit or license or for transfer of permit or license in Mauritius. The bond must be issued by a registered insurer in Mauritius.

Validity
