Apply In-Person:
- To apply for registering with West African Examinations Council in person, the private candidates will have to visit the office of the West African Examinations Council.
- For school candidates, they can register with the help of their schools itself.
- The address and contact details can be found in the following link:Link
- Visit the respective office and inform the person in-charge that you want to apply for West African Examinations Council registration.
- The application process is online and the official over there will help you in completing the online application.
- Make sure that you have all the documents listed in “Required documents” section of this page.
- You will have all the required information to complete the application process.
- Do as instructed, complete the application process and submit the application. Pay the required fees by following the instructions.
- Once the application has been completed and submitted, the system will allocate a centre to you and generate your examination number.
- You should then print the admission notice/photo card. Note that this document will be required before you are allowed into the examination hall.
Apply Online
- Before proceeding to complete online registration, the applicant will have to buy an entry scratch card from the Council office.
School Candidates
- To apply for registering with West African Examinations Council (WAEC) online, the applicant has to visit the following link:Link
- Click “Create an account” button, PIN validation page will open. Enter the PIN present in the scratch cardin the field provided and click “Verify PIN” button.
- Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the account creation process. An account for your registration will be set up as required.
- Login into the portal by entering the user details and locate an appropriate option for the examination registration.
- Firstly, you will be required to upload a photograph of specific dimensions as required in the portal.
- You are required to supply your contact information which includes telephone, email, residential address, residential city, residential state, postal address, city and state.
- You are required to select the other subjects you wish to register for in this examination.
- You are required to read the declaration section carefully and check or tick the checkboxes before submitting your form. You cannot proceed unless you have done this.
- Once you have completed the registration form, you are required to click the ACCEPT button after which a preview of your details will be displayed.
- You will have to review your application at this stage and click the EDIT button if you desire to make any modification.
- You should click the SAVE button if you want to save your application and still be able to come back and modify it.
- Click the SUBMIT button if you have completed filling the form perfectly and want to submit your application.
- On successful completion and submission of your registration form, the system will allocate a centre to you and generate your examination number.
- You should then print the admission notice/photo card. Note that this document will be required before you are allowed into the examination hall.
Private candidates
- Note: You can complete registration by this method only if you have a fingerprint scanner. Otherwise, visit any Registration Centre with such facilities to scan your fingerprints.
- To apply for registering with West African Examinations Council (WAEC) online, the applicant has to visit the following link: Link
- Click the link and download the software by following the on screen instructions.
- Launch the software in your personal computer, open it and proceed to complete the registration process.
- Ensure your Surname, First name and other names and enter your bio data which includes Gender, Disability, Marital Status, Maiden Name (if applicable), Date of Birth, Nationality and State of Origin.
- You are required to take a picture with a webcam with a minimum Camera Specification* 2.0MP 720p USB 2.0 Color: High Resolution RGB Support Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified 2.0 megapixel sensor Up to 30 frames per second and upload it on the software.
- You are required to supply your contact information which includes telephone, email, residential address, residential city, residential state, postal address, city and state.

EligibilityEdit
- Private and public candidates at tertiary level institutions, polytechnics, and universities can apply.
- For school examinations, the applicant must be studying in SS 3 class in an accredited school.
- Private Candidates who have attended GCE and got cleared in at least three subjects are eligible.
- Applicants who have successfully passed the Teachers Grade two examination are also eligible.

- Note that your name must not be more than 40 characters; this includes spaces between the surname, first name and other name. Please select NONE for disability information if you are not disabled.
- Note that Telephone number is compulsory since it would be used to contact the candidate should the need arise.
- The exact centre you selected during the application will be automatically assigned to you by the system. Please note that you cannot change your examination town after submission.
- English Language and Mathematics have been automatically selected for you because they are compulsory.
- Please note that a minimum of Seven (7) and a maximum of Nine (9) subjects are allowed (English Language and Mathematics inclusive).
