Apply In Person:
- To apply for a Young Professionals Permit or License in Mauritius, you must first contact the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Mauritius link
- The EDB is responsible for providing business support, advice and assistance to foreign investors who wish to set up a company, as well as for processing applications for Investor Permits and Licenses.
- Once the applicant has contacted the EDB, they will be provided with an application form.
- The applicant must fill in the form with accurate information such as their personal details, business objectives, financials and other relevant information.
- The applicant must also submit the required documents such as a copy of passport, birth certificate, proof of residence, business plan, financial statements and they can be found under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant must pay the application fee as per the guidelines of the EDB and they can be found under the “Fees” section of this page.
- The applicant must then submit the form and documents to the EDB for approval.
- After the documents have been received and reviewed by the EDB, the applicant will be required to attend an interview with EDB officials to discuss their proposed business plan.
- The applicant should ensure that they are adequately prepared for their upcoming interview with the EDB.
- During the interview, the EDB will assess the applicant’s business plan and financials to determine if they meet the requirements set out by the EDB.
- Once the interview is complete, the EDB will decide whether to grant or refuse the application.
- If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued with the Young Professionals Permit or License.
- The applicant will also need to pay the relevant taxes to the Mauritius Revenue Authority.
- Once the registration and taxes have been paid, the applicant will be able to start their business operations in Mauritius.
- The applicant must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations and ensure that their business is compliant with the Mauritian laws.
- Processing time for this procedure is 4-6 weeks depending on the complexity of the application.

EligibilityEdit
- To be eligible for a Get Young Professionals Permit or License in Mauritius, applicants must have a valid university degree from an accredited institution and have a minimum of two years of work experience in their field of expertise.
- In addition, applicants must have sufficient funds to cover their living and working expenses for at least the duration of the permit or license.

The application process for a Young Professionals Permit in Mauritius is as follows:
- Complete and sign the application form, which can be obtained from the Ministry of Education, Employment and Human Resources.
- Submit the application form to the Ministry of Education, Employment and Human Resources.
- Provide proof of your qualifications, such as diplomas, certificates, or other documents.
- Have two character references from two individuals who are not related to you.
- Pay the required application fee.
- Attend an interview with the Ministry of Education, Employment and Human Resources.
- Wait for the permit to be issued.
