Apply In Person

  1. To apply for a Petrol Service Station Licence, the applicant should make the application to the National Land Transport Authority (NLTA). Please view the NLTA contact details through this link Contact details.
  2. Visit the NLTA office and obtain the application form in person or download the form directly through this NLTA website Application form
  3. Complete the application form correctly and then write a formal letter supporting the application. Note that the letter should be from a petrol distributing company.
  4. Then visit the NLTA office and pay the application fee at the cashier’s office and obtain the payment receipt.
  5. Upon the application fee payment, submit the application to the NLTA official at the service desk.
  6. The official will check if the application form is completed accordingly and if the applicant has provided the relevant supporting documents.
  7. If the application is complete, the applicant will be issued with the acknowledgment receipt and the application will be forwarded to the NLTA license officials for evaluation.
  8. The authority will assess the application and convene the applicant for a hearing regarding the application.
  9. After the hearing stage, the authority will review the application and the hearing report and if the application meets the merits for approval, it will be approved.
  10. The applicant will then be informed of the approval through his/her contact details and the applicant will also be informed of the conditions of implementation of the license and required to pay the appropriate license fee.
  11. Go to the NLTA office and pay the license fee and the cashier’s office and obtain the payment receipt.
  12. Submit the payment receipt to the NLTA official at the licensing unit along with the letter of approval of the application.
  13. The official will verify the documents and then the applicant will be issued with the license.
