ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To register as Shipping Company in person, the applicant has to visit office of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
  2. The contacts and address information of the NIMASA can be found in the following contact link
  3. Visit the office and obtain the application form for registering a Shipping Company from the respective department.
  4. Make sure that you have all the required documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form as required with necessary information and attest with your signature.
  6. Then, attach the documents required with the completed form and visit the office of General Manager of Western Port or Eastern Ports.

  8. Proceed to submit it to the concerned official at the Office for further verification and application processing.
  9. After submission, the applicant will be issued with an invoice to pay the required fees
  10. Pay the required amount of fees as directed by the officials.
  11. On confirming successful payment, the Nigerian Port Authority will provide an acknowledgment slip.
  12. Once the Certificate of Registration is ready to be collected, the office will inform the applicant to collect it through any applicable means.

  • Any organization that wishes to possess ships for commercial purposes, can apply.
