ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To obtain Insurance Agent license or Permit in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the National Insurance Commission of Nigeria.
  2. The address and contact are in the following contact link
  3. Visit the office and obtain an application form for Insurance Agent license or Permit from the relevant department.
  4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form and attach the documents (as required) with the completed application.
  6. Then submit the application package to the relevant authority at the office. Pay the required amount of fees as directed by the officials.
  7. After submission, the submitted applications and attached documents will put forth for verification and validation.
  8. On checking and finding that the requirements have been furnished properly, the officials will proceed to perform further required actions.
  9. Once all the necessary processes are over and the permit/license is ready for collection, you will be notified through phone or email and asked to collect the document.

  • The applicant should be a major and should have been certified as an insurance agent by the Institute.
  • The applicant should not be a criminal convicted by a court or tribunal of an offence.
  • He/she must possess a Certificate of Proficiency issued in the name of the individual applicant by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.
