Apply In-Person:
- To obtain Insurance Agent license or Permit in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the National Insurance Commission of Nigeria.
- The address and contact are in the following contact link
- Visit the office and obtain an application form for Insurance Agent license or Permit from the relevant department.
- Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Complete the application form and attach the documents (as required) with the completed application.
- Then submit the application package to the relevant authority at the office. Pay the required amount of fees as directed by the officials.
- After submission, the submitted applications and attached documents will put forth for verification and validation.
- On checking and finding that the requirements have been furnished properly, the officials will proceed to perform further required actions.
- Once all the necessary processes are over and the permit/license is ready for collection, you will be notified through phone or email and asked to collect the document.

- The applicant should be a major and should have been certified as an insurance agent by the Institute.
- The applicant should not be a criminal convicted by a court or tribunal of an offence.
- He/she must possess a Certificate of Proficiency issued in the name of the individual applicant by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.
