- Fill out and complete the MI-101Y form.
- Submit required documents stated below.
- Send the application along with the documents to any of the Regional Offices.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Power of Attorney and/or Corporate Resolutions that incorporate a Power of Attorney. Rev. 11/15 66 MI-100
- Proof of Ownership, i.e., Bill of Sale, Builders Certificate.
- Declaration of Private Use Not for Hire.
- Tonnage Measurement Certificate
- Verification of Suitability for Intended Use
- if classed, by a Certificate of Confirmation of Class issued by a Classification Society recognized by the Administrator, or
- if not classed, by a Certificate of Survey, Statement of Compliance or other document issued by a recognized Classification Society surveyor, an AR or an underwriters assessor for the company that will be insuring the yacht.
- Either confirmation of Hull and Machinery and P & I coverage or Cover Note on a combined policy of insurance issued by a recognized insurance company in a form acceptable to the Administrator.
- Proof that vessel is free of liens or encumbrances.
- If the yacht is not a newbuilding and is currently documented in another country, consent from that country to the vessels transfer to the RMI.
- Payment of registration and corporate fees for either one (1) year or three (3) years at the owners option.
- Payment of tonnage tax for either one (1) year or three (3) years at the owners option

InstructionsEdit
- The registration of commercial yachts is limited to those of 24 meters or more in length which are carrying less than 12 passengers.
- A passenger yacht is any yacht certified to carry more than 12 but not more than 36 passengers. Registration of passenger yachts is limited to those which have a class certificate with a passenger ship or passenger yacht notation.
