Procedure

1. Go to Marshall Islands Social Security Administration (MISSA) Office.
2. Fill out an application form for Employer ID number. You can download the form here.
3. Submit required documents. (Please see below for information.)
4. Pay the corresponding fees.

• Corporate charter, if applicant is a corporation
• Foreign Investment Business License (FIBL), if applicant is a foreigner
• Copy of latest Gross Receipts Tax (GRY return, if applicant has paid already

The Employer Identification Number is commonly used by employers for the purpose of reporting taxes. It is also known as Federal Tax Identification Number.

Every employer or self-employed worker doing business in the Marshall Islands should apply for an EIN before the start of its business operation.
