Procedure

1. To obtain a hunting license the applicant has to be a member of a recognized hunting club in Malta.
2. The person is issued with a recommendation letter with which a person can call at his local Police Office and submits an application for the desired hunting license.
3. Police conducts internal checks to confirm that an applicant is qualified to hold a hunting license.
4. The applicant is referred to a MEPA test to establish the applicants knowledge of the types of birds and the hunting regulations.
5. If the applicant passes the test, then he is contacted by the local Police Office and a hunting license is issued.
