Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Foreign and Local Scholarship in person, the applicant has to first find a scholarship provider by making a browser search.
2. Make a search with respect to your requirement and choose an applicable scholarship provider.
3. Find the office address of the funding board/committee in the official website itself. Find and go through the procedure for applying to get a Foreign/Local Scholarship, if available.
4. Instead, the applicant can also seek help from the Federal Scholarship Board of Nigeria in finding a fund provider whose contact details can be found in the Link
5. Take the documents required for the application process and make a visit to the office of the funding board/committee.
6. Approach the relevant official at the office and inform them that you wish to apply for the scholarship that they offer.
7. The official may ask you to complete an application format as prescribed by the funding board/committee.
8. Complete the application format by filling the required details in the respective fields.
9. Once completed filling the application form, attach all the documents listed in “Required documents” section of this page.
10. The application and attached documents should be then submitted at the office. The applicant may be provided with a receipt of application after undergoing the required interview and verification processes.
11. The application and provided documents will be forwarded for further verification and validation processes.
12. If all the documents are found in order and your request meets the eligibility criteria set by the board/committee, the application will be approved and the applicant will informed about the approval through phone or email.
13. Further, within a stipulated time period, the necessary fund will be credited in the applicant’s bank account.
    

Apply Online

1. To apply for Foreign and Local Scholarship online, the applicant has to visit the online portal of the Federal Scholarship Board of Nigeria by clicking the following Link
2. Registered users can click on the “Existing Applicants Login” button and login entering their user credentials in the appropriate fields and clicking “Login” button.
3. Visit the portal and click on the “Apply for Nigeria Award Scholarship (NA) 2020/2021” button. In the next page, read out the instructions listed and click on “Apply Now” button.
4. Complete the Registration page by entering the required details and click “Register” button. Successful account creation message will appear.
5. Enter the user credentials that you entered in the registration page below that and click “Login” button. In the homepage, application instructions will be available.
6. First you have to complete your Bio data by clicking on the “Click here to complete” link under Bio data in the ‘Profile Completion Status’ tab and complete the step.
7. Upload your Passport by clicking “Choose file” button and provide your complete Bio data as applicable and click “Save” button.
8. After that, complete your ‘Parents/Next of Kin’ data page by providing the details asked for and clicking “Save” button.
9. In the next page, you will have to complete the ‘Current Academic Level’ section and click “Save” button. Further, upload the scanned copies of vital documents asked for by clicking “Choose file” button in the next page.
10. After the required documents, complete the application process and submit the application by following on-screen instructions as applicable.
11. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
12. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps for registration.
13. Then, the applicant will be informed about the further tasks to be accomplished.

Eligibility

• Any deserving Nigerian scholar, who wishes to gain benefits from the Federal Scholarship Board in pursuing any higher studies, can apply.
• The applicant must possess a national Identity Card and a proof of Admission.
• Applicant must satisfy the merit criteria set by the fund provider.
