Procedure

Apply Online

1. Log in through Link
2. From the passport menu, Click on “MRP Seamans Passport” tab.
3. Fill in the General Information and Contact Information with the correct details.
4. Check declaration and click on “Next” button.
5. Fill the form and complete the fields provided with the correct details.
6. Click on “submit” button.
7. Click “Proceed to online payments”.
8. Select any of these: Innovate1pay, Net post pay.
   • Please note these are the ONLY authorized payment platform.
9. Click “Continue”.
10. You have an option of card or bank payment.
11. Select proceed to payment.
12. If card option chosen, complete details.
13. If bank; Print slip for further processing at bank where you pay at bank’s POS cash.
    • Please Note: The approved payment gateway is as stated on the portal.
14. Submit application letter with other requirements in person at the passport office chosen during online application.
    • Note: Applicants are require to appear at chosen Immigration Office for photograph and biometric data capturing if current passport is more than six (6) months old.

Eligibility

• Nigerians who work on ocean going vessels or watercrafts are eligible to apply.
  

Fees

• All fees are exclusive of bank charges, ₦2000 Address Verification fee.
  
• Administrative charges are non-refundable and payment of passport fees for such cases are subject to approval of application.
  

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.

Instructions

• Application fees paid for passport is non-refundable.
• Payment shall be refunded only if double payment is mistakenly made for the same application.
• Payments are valid for one (1) year only from the payment date.
• Only online payment is acceptable. Anyone who pays otherwise and receives service, is subject to prosecution and revocation of visa or passport.
• If you have already completed an application, please check your application status rather than completing a duplicate application.
• Applicants need to ensure correct telephone numbers and email addresses are filled (failure may result in delay of passport production).

Need for the Document

• A Seaman's Passport is issued to persons working on boats. It is not for travel. The passport is preferred as ID proof in most countries where the seaman enters.
