Procedure

Apply Online

1. To apply for Expatriate Quota Approval Certificate online, the applicant has to visit the ECITIBIZ portal of the Ministry of Interiors, Nigeria by clicking the following link:apply online
2. If you have an account already, you can enter the user details, click “Log in” and proceed. If not, click “New User Registration” link below and click the “Corporate Account (Business Expatriate Quota)” option under “Corporate” tab in the next page.
3. Click “register now” button, registration page will open, enter all the details required and click “Register” button. Account preview will be displayed, scroll down and click “Proceed” button.
4. A verification email will be sent to your email ID, open the email and click on the “click here” link to activate the account. Under the email confirmation message, “click here” link will be given, click on that to proceed.
5. Login page will be opened, log in again by following the instructions mentioned before. Basic company profile should be set up the first time you log in after registration.
6. Set it up by filling the required details, uploading the required documents’ soft copies and click “Apply for Establishment Grant/Expatriate Quota” button. You can click “Add more” option and upload any document other than the documents asked for.
7. Online application form for Expatriate Quota Approval will open, in which you have to fill all the required details, state the appropriate reason for the application and upload all the required documents.
8. After completing, click “Proceed” button, then a message will pop-up, click “Yes” button if you want to lodge another application or click “No” button and click “Proceed to payment” button.
9. Choose any payment method that is listed in the payments page and make the payment by following the on-screen instructions.
10. After payment, do not refresh the page and now that you have done the payment, your application would have lodged successfully.
11. After submission, the submitted applications and attached documents will put forth for verification and validation.
12. After checking and finding that the requirements have been furnished properly, the officials will proceed to perform further required actions.
13. Once all the necessary processes are over and the Certificate is ready for collection, you will be notified and asked to collect the document.

Eligibility

• Any qualifying company that wishes to get itself included in the Expatriate Quota and utilize the services offered, is eligible.
• A representative can also complete the application process on behalf of the qualifying company.
• The eligible entity must possess an Incorporation Certificate and relevant valid license while applying.

Fees

Approval fees: N20,000.00
Portal fees: N10,000.00

Validity

• Initial approval is valid for a period of 3 years.

Instructions

• After logging in into the ECITIBIZ portal, the applicants can proceed step by step by clicking on the ‘Expatriate Quota’ tab and selecting the options one by one.

• First click on the “Overview” option and go through the description about the category of application.

• Then, click on the “Requirements” option where you can find the requirements to be fulfilled to apply. As per the list of requirements, prepare the documents to be uploaded.

• After that, you can click on the “Fees details” option to find the costs for obtaining the certificate.

• Below that, you can find the “End User Manual” option clicking on which gets you a manual document downloaded. It can also be downloaded by clicking the following link: end user manual

• Make sure that the application and attached documents are complete to avoid rejections.

• Approval issued initially is valid for a period of three years after which it should be renewed every alternative year within a life span of ten years.

• Any enterprise inside the Republic of Nigeria, that wishes to make of the services and privileges offered in the Expatriate Quota must obtain and possess an Expatriate Quota Approval Certificate.
  

Information which might help

• Renewal of quotas granted will not be automatic but considered on merit based on submission of the required documents.
• License / Permit / Certificate from relevant Government Agencies / department / ministries for the operation or execution of project must be attached if company is engaged in oil services, health care services, fishing, mining, constructions (Work Registration Board), etc (original to be presented for sighting).

• Evidence of work at hand, its duration and value attached to the contract(s) if the company is engaged in building, civil engineering, construction, etc original to be presented for sighting.
