ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Environmental Impact Assessment in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Federal Ministry of Environment.
  2. The address and contact details of the Federal Ministry of Environment can be found in the following Link
  3. Before visiting the office to apply, the applicant should make the payment required for the registration process.
  4. For making the payment, the applicant should visit the following Link
  5. Visit the link and type and Select Federal Ministry of Environment from the Drop down box.
  6. Select EIA payments from name of services. Complete the form filling and Click (Proceed to Payment) to generate RRR reference number.
  7. Take printed RRR number to any commercial bank for payment and pay the necessary fees as directed by the officials at the bank.
  8. The receipt of payment should be submitted at the office to obtain the project registration/Notification form.
  9. Complete the form as required with necessary details and information in respective fields.
  10. Attach the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  11. Then, submit the application form and supporting documents to the relevant official at the office.
  12. On receipt of application and required documents, Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) will take place in which Site verification of the proposed project location, Scoping of the projectandEIA screening of the Terms of Reference will be conducted.
  13. Further, the EIA study is carried out including baseline environmental data gathering and laboratory analysis of collected samples witnessed by the Ministry.
  14. During the time, submission of hard copies (depending on magnitude & category) and electronic copy of the draft EIA report to the Ministry will be required.
  15. After relevant submissions and verifications, the applicant’s request will be approved and this will be communicated to the applicant through email or phone.
  16. Further, an EIA certificate will be issued and the applicant can collect it by any means.

  • The draft EIA report is display for public review and participation depending on EIA category the report is classified.
  • The draft EIA report is reviewed by independent Panel of Experts with relevant regulators (the review level depends on the category of the project).
  • Further, the approval or disapproval of the EIA of the product by the Ministry base on the recommendations of the independent panel of experts takes place.
