Apply In-Person
- To apply for getting an Air Transport License in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

- Visit the NCAA office with an application letter made in writing and duly signed by a person authorised by the applicant to request for an Air Transport Licence from the relevant department.
- Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Complete the form as required with relevant details under respective sections. After completing the application form, attach the required documents with the completed form.
- Then, proceed to submit the package to the Director General at the office in person for further processes. Make the necessary payment as directed.
- After submission, the completed form and corresponding documents will be put into further verification and validation processes.
- Once all the processes got completed, the authorities will make necessary steps for the license issuance process.

EligibilityEdit
- Any individual or organisation Nigeria, that wishes to carry on the business of Airlines and offer scheduled and non-scheduled services, can apply.
- This license category applies to carriage of passengers, mail and cargo by air for hire and reward in public transport category.
- The applying entity must produce all the documents as required by the Nigerian Civil Aviations Authority.
- It is mandatory that at least one member of the board of directors must be aviation professional in line with the provisions of the Act and the majority shareholding shall be held by Nigerian(s).

Non-refundable processing fee: N1,000,000
After receiving the license, an annual utilization fee of N200,000 should be paid.

- Applications should be made exactly on the date six months after which the expected date of license utilization occurs.

- It is important that the completed form must contain all the information required properly and the form must be filled legibly, in order to get accepted by the Authority.

- Any Nigerian individual or organisation, who wants involve in Airline business and offer scheduled and non-scheduled air transport services inside the Republic, must possess an Air Transport License.

- Applicants should be aware that they will be required to read the conditions present in the application, before attesting the application form and comply with them appropriately.
- No person shall operate an aircraft in Nigeria without security clearance issued by the Government. Applicants duly completed Personal History Statement (PHS) forms and other relevant documents will be forwarded by the Authority to the Ministry responsible for Aviation for purpose of security clearance.
- The Authority will in the process of carrying out the technical evaluation of the application cause the notice of application to be published in the Official Government Gazette, the fee of which shall be paid by the applicant.
