Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Additional Expatriate Quota in person, the applicant has to visit the Citizenship and Business Department, Ministry of Interior.
- The address and contact details can be found in the following contact link
- Visit the office and obtain an application form for Additional Expatriate Quota from the relevant department.
- Complete the application form by filling in appropriate details in applicable fields and under relevant sections.
- After completing, make sure that you have attached all the documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” sections of this page, with the application form and submit them to the relevant authority at the office.
- Pay the required amount of fees by following the instructions of the officials.
- On successful payment and submission of the application, the application package will be forwarded to various departments and authorities for verification.
- After all the necessary processes are over, the application will be approved if it’s found satisfactory and the applicant will be informed about the approval through phone or email.
- Further, the applicant can collect the instrument of the application by any applicable means.
- Meanwhile, the applicant can also check with the office about the application status.
Apply Online
- To apply for Additional Expatriate Quota online, the applicant has to visit the ECITIBIZ portal of the Ministry of Interiors, Nigeria by clicking the following online application link
- If you have an account already, you can enter the user details, click “Log in” and proceed. If not, click the “New User Registration” link below and click the “Corporate Account (Business Expatriate Quota)” option under “Corporate” tab on the next page.
- Click the “register now” button, registration page will open, enter all the details required and click “Register” button. Account preview will be displayed, scroll down and click “Proceed” button.
- A verification email will be sent to your email ID, open the email and click on the “click here” link to activate the account. Under the email confirmation message, “click here” link will be given, click on that to proceed.
- The Login page will be opened, log in again by following the instructions mentioned before. Basic company profile should be set up the first time you log in after registration.
- Set it up by filling the basic details, uploading the required documents’ soft copies and click “Apply for Additional Expatriate Quota” button. You can click “Add more” option and upload any document other than the documents asked for.
- Online application form for Additional Expatriate Quota will open, in which you have to fill all the required details, state the appropriate reason for the application and upload all the required documents.
- After completing, click the “Proceed” button, then a message will pop-up, click “Yes” button if you want to lodge another application or click “No” button and click the “Proceed to payment” button.
- Choose any payment method that is listed on the payments page and make the payment by following the on-screen instructions.
- After payment, do not refresh the page and now that you have done the payment, your application would have lodged successfully.
- After submission, the submitted applications and attached documents will put forth for verification and validation.
- After checking and finding that the requirements have been furnished properly, the officials will proceed to perform further required actions.
- Once all the necessary processes are over and the Certificate is ready for collection, you will be notified and asked to collect the document.
- The applicant can make use of the ‘My application’ tab for viewing the progress of his/her application.

- Make sure that the application and attached documents are complete to avoid rejections.
- Approval issued initially is valid for a period of three years after which it should be renewed every alternative year within a life span of ten years.
