Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Bookmaker license in person, the applicant has to make an application at the office of National Lottery Regulatory Commission.

3. Visit the office and obtain an application form to obtain a Bookmaker License from the relevant department. Or click here to download: - application form
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Complete the application form with required details and information in respective fields and sections.
6. Attest it with your signature and attach the required documents with the completed application form.
7. Submit it to the relevant authority at the office and pay the Non-refundable Application and Processing fee as directed by the officials.

9. Visit the link and click “PAY LOTTERY COMMISSION” button and follow the onscreen instructions to make the online payment.
10. The applicant will also have to provide some information about the organization on the subsequent days, upon the demand of the Commission.
11. After that, applicants will be required to make a presentation to the Commission.
12. Within a period of ten days after making the presentation, if the Commission is satisfied, the applicant will be provided with a Provisional approval with a validity of 90 days.
13. To obtain the actual license, that applicant will be required to submit another set of documents and fulfil some of the stipulated conditions.
14. If everything has been done properly, a substantive permit will be issued at the expiration of the provisional approval period.
15. Non-fulfilment of the above conditions within the stipulated 90 days will void your application for sports betting Permit.

Eligibility

Any organization in Nigeria, that intends to act as a Bookmaker in sporting bets, can apply.

Fees

• The applicant will have to pay a Non-refundable Application and Processing fee of N2,000,000.00 (Two Million Naira) to the commission.
• Later, the applicant should pay fees for obtaining the permit as instructed by the commission.
