ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person

  1. When the goods have arrived at the border, submit form 12 with all the supporting mandatory documents as requested by the clearing agent
  2. The clearing agent will then enter the declaration of the goods in the MRA Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) which will generate an invoice on the basis of the declaration entered
  3. Once the invoice is obtained, the clearing agent will fill the CAL and applies for Custom form T1
  4. If the T1 application is not approved, customs will deny you the inward clearance and advices you to clear at the border
  5. And if approved, the goods will be moved in a temporary storage for 10 days or to a private siding
  6. After 10 days and the good are not ready for clearance, they will be moved to a bounded warehouse for six month
  7. And if they are ready for clearance, they will be moved for consumption and you will be requested to settle the payment invoice issued
  8. Once you have paid, the clearing agent will submit form 12 with all the mandatory supporting document attached to custom
  9. Customs will receive and verify the documents and assign clearing lane to the goods i.e. after assessment of the documents the customs officer can require a physical inspection (Red lane) or Perform a documentary inspection (yellow lane) or Automatic clearance, No inspection required (Blue lane)
  10. The customs will conduct a physical inspection and if the inspection find serious regulation, further action will be taken e.g. goods may be impounded or seized
  11. And if the inspection is correct, you will be requested to pay duty top-up
  12. Once everything checks out MRA will provide the goods release order
  13. Obtain the release order and proceed with your goods
