Procedure

1.A person who wishes to apply for a job in the public service commission of Liberia should start by looking for any open vacancies that suits his / her qualification and experience.

• The open vacancy many be identified by visiting a particular ministry or government agency to look at internal adverts or by looking through external adverts that usually appear in news papers or on different websites of different ministries links of ministries can be viewed at http://www.csa.gov.lr/content.php?sub=Links&related=Links.
• The same information about available vacancies can be obtained from the Civil Service Agencys office or from its website http://www.csa.gov.lr/index.php;

2.When an open vacancy that suits an applicant is identified, he / she must read carefully the instructions attached to it before applying.

• This is done to ensure that he / she meets all that is required to qualify for a particular job;

3.If one finds out that he / she qualifies for the available job, he / she can now proceed with preparing application and all the required document;

4.Thereafter submit application as indicated in the advert.

5.After submission, applicants must wait for a given period of time (sometimes shown in the advert) for application to be applications to be processed;

6.Thereafter the processing time successful applicants are contacted to let them know of the next step;

Need for the Document

Employment in public service commission means working in any of the government ministries, agencies or department. In Liberia, the Civil Service Agency is the central government agency responsible for managing the Civil Service with one of its responsibilities being recruitment of civil servants.

The Ministry of Labour has overall responsibility for labour issues, including laws (the Labour Code, and Decent Work Act), labour standards and industrial relations, and adherence to international labour conventions and their ratification. In doing this they utilize systems of tripartite dialogue involving workers and employers and are central in mediations during times of labour disputes. The Ministry of Labour is also the custodian of employment aspects of development, and an advisor on all Government proposals to ensure employment aspects of all policies and strategies are taken into account.
