ProcedureEdit
- Applications to modify or change information printed on the passport must be personally submitted by the citizen. For those younger than 16 years old or those unable to apply for the procedure themselves, applications may be submitted through their legal representative.
- Fill up and submit the application form along with all other required documents.
- The applicants biometric data will be collected (fingerprints, signature and photo).
- Pay the passport application fee.
Required DocumentsEdit
For changing data in passports for persons under the age of 16:
- Passport
- Birth certificate
- Decision or other act to change the data
- Proof of parents' identity (identity card, passport or driving license)
- The decision of the court for custody of the child if the parents are separated.
- Original authorization and stamped by a notary, or by the competent authority, if one parent is absent
- Resident's Certificate (for changes in address)
- Proof of payment of passport application fee
For changing data in passports for persons over the age of 16:
- Identity Card of the Republic of Kosovo (copy)
- Passport
- The decision to change the data
- Proof of payment of passport application fee
Note: Submit the following documents in original and photocopy.

- For persons over the age of 18: 25 Euros
- For individuals aged between 3 - 18: 20 Euros
- For those under the age of 3: 15 Euros
ValidityEdit
For those who obtained the travel document when they are older than 18 years old : 10 years
For those aged between 3 - 18 when the travel document was issued: 5 years
For those younger than 3 years old when the travel document was issued: 3 years
The travel document also ceases to be valid when:
- The holder reported the travel document as stolen or lost.
- The passport was damaged due to the fault of the holder.
- The holder no longer holds Kosovo citizenship.
- The holder is no longer eligible to possess a Kosovo passport.
Note: In cases where the holder is no longer eligible to possess a Kosovo Passport, the travel document must be submitted to the competent authority within 8 days following the day the holder becomes ineligible to possess the said document.

Processing TimeEdit
The competent authority will make a decision regarding the passport application in 15 days after its submission.
In case there are doubts about the accuracy of data submitted by the applicant, the period for issuing the travel document may be postponed to verify the said information, which can not exceed 60 days.

Issuance of Passports falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
For minors who will be applying for the procedure, they must be accompanied by both of their parents. In case one of the child's parent couldn't make it to the passport office, the other parent must show notarized document stating the reason for the parent's absence. This document would not be necessary if one of the child's parent is deceased, the other parent can just simply show up at the passport office with the minor. Foster child must be accompanied by their guardian.

Need for the DocumentEdit
A passport is a document, issued by the national government. It certifies the identity and nationality of the holder for travel abroad. It contains information about the holder; like name, gender, date and place of birth.
This document does not in itself entitle the passport holder entry into another country, nor consular protection while abroad nor any other privileges. However, it does normally allows the passport holder to return to the country where the passport was issued.
Rights to consular protection arises from international treaties, while the holder's return to the issuing country depends on the laws prevailing in that country.
