ProcedureEdit
- Applications to renew an annual medical registrar license are done online.
- Applications for renewal should be done at least one week before the expiry date of the current license.
Apply Online
- A medical registrar practitioner can renew their medical registrar license online by visiting the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council’s Online Services Portal through the following link: KMPDC Online Services Portal
- Log into the KMPDC Online Services Portal using your “Username or Email address” and your password.
- Upon entering your accounts’ homepage, click on the “Apply for License” tab in the menu on the left pane to enter the next page.
- Please click on the “Renewal ” option to make your renewal application.
- On the retention page click on the “Click here to Renew Annual Practice License for 20xx” button to enter the next page.
- Please provide the required information for renewal and click on the “Save & Continue” button.
- This will cause an invoice for payment of the licensing fees to be generated.
- On the MPDC Invoice page “Click to Pay Now” blue tab to pay for the Health Facility Licence.
- Proceed to make the payment using the instructions given online. The Payment instructions will be generated and displayed automatically in the portal. More information about the Replacement fees to be paid is given in the “Fee” section of this page.
- Upon making the renewal payment, a payment receipt and the Renewed Medical Registrar Licence will be generated online.
- Click on the “Download Receipt “ Button and the “Download License” button to download the payment receipt and Renewed Medical Registrar Licence respectively.
- Print the receipt and renewed license and keep them for reference.

- A licensed Medical Registrar practitioner in Kenya is eligible to make a renewal application for a Medical Registrar license.
- The practitioner should have attained the required Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Points.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A Medical Registrar practitioner needs a practice license in order to practice medicine in Kenya. It is an offence to practice medicine in Kenya without being licensed with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- One needs to have a valid license at all times to practice in Kenya.
