*Bringing Certificate of Marriage Status of each side.

==Required Documents==
*Completed 1 declaration form.
*The applicants must bring original household registration book and ID
*When obtaining the Marriage License, the applicants must present the original ID or passport to check.
*Certificate of Marriage Status of female or male if request.

==Office Locations & Contacts==
The applicant can call 1080 (The Information Center) to ask the address the People's Committees near where the parents live most and come there to getting married.

==Eligibility==
*Conditions for marriage:
**About age: Male is 20 years and older, female is 18 years and older (age is determined as the 19th birthday of male and 17th birthday of female).
**About the voluntarily married will: the marriage is by both sides voluntary decision, neither side is coerced, deceived the other, no one is forced or hinder.
**The marriage is prohibited in the following cases:
***Prohibit getting married with someone having wife or husband.
***Prohibit getting married with someone who lost their capacity of civil act.
***Prohibit getting married between people who have the same bloodline relatives (for example, between grandparents with grandchildren; father, mother and their children); between those who have relatives within three generations (for example, between uncles, ants and nephews, nieces; between the siblings).
***Prohibit getting married between persons relating adoptive parents and adopted children or who did have relations between adoptive parents and adopted children; daughter in law and father in law; son in law and mother in law; stepfather and his wifes daughter; stepmother and her husbands son.
***Prohibit getting married between people who have the same gander
*Jurisdiction to resolve:
**Commune-level People's Committees where the male or female reside makes the marriage registration.
**If both sides married (male side and female side) have registered place of permanent residence, the marriage registration is done at the People's Committee of the commune where they registered their permanent residence (if in the same a place), otherwise, they have the choice of marriage registration that is in the People's Committee of the commune where the male or female side having permanent household registration (if not in the same place);
**If only the male or female side have registered place of permanent residence and the other have had temporary registration, the registration of marriages conducted in the People's Committees of communes where the male or the female household having had registration residence.
**If both the male and female side have not yet registered place of permanent residence but have temporary registration, the registration of marriages is conducted in the People's Committees of communes where the male or female side having had temporary registration .

==Processing Time==
Time to complete the application for getting married is 5 days from the date of receipt of the full dossier as prescribed. However, in case of necessary clarification, the processing time is not exceeding 10 days.

==Instructions==
*Fill up 1 application form for getting married license.
*And the original of the Certificate of Marital Status for marriage registration procedure is issued by the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns of residence of the male and the female.
**In case of having different permanent residence, the marriage registration of the male or the female side at the commune-level People's Committees that are not his/her own residence must submit certification by the commune-level People's Committees residence about his/her marital status.
*In case of people who are working within or studying overseas and return to Vietnam for marriage registration, he/she must be certified by the Foreign Office, Vietnam Consulate in his/her country about the marital status.
*For officers and soldiers are working in the armed forces, the heads of the units are able to confirm their marital status.
*The application for getting married license has to apply at the People's Committees.

*Their address
*Full name of their parents.
*ID number

==Need for the Document==
A Vietnamese couple who intends to get married in Vietnam must apply in person for a marriage license at the People's Committees. The application for a license must be signed by both applicants in the presence of the People's Committees.

==Information which might help==
In case of getting married with someone who is a married person but did divorce or a widowed person, you must present the original judgment of the Court that has been in effect, the Court's decision that has been legally laws on divorce or a copy of the Death Certificate of his wife (or her husband) for the confirmation of his/her marital status.
