*Any person, who is going to become the new owner of the concerned livestock/animal, can apply for an identification mark transfer.
*In the case of the death of the legal owner, the new owner becomes eligible only after certain legal processes have been performed at the court.

==Instructions==
*The Application for registration of an identification mark can also be obtained from extension officers, magistrates’ offices, and stock-theft units of the South African Police Services or from the Registrar of Animal Identification in Pretoria.

*Part 2 of the application form must be completed by the applicant or (in the case of death) by the executor of the estate. If there is no executor, a copy of the death certificate and “Letters of Authority” should be attached.

*The application form should be completed with details with absolute legibility and appropriateness in order to avoid rejections by the Registrar.

*The bank account details in which the required fees should be deposited can be obtained from the office.
