==Procedure==
#To acquire a temporary licence for operating a boat, foreign citizens must take the testing of skills for operating a boat in both marine waters and inland waterways.
#They may also take only the testing of skills for operating a boat in marine waters or only the testing of skills for operating a boat in inland waterways.
#In order to acquire a temporary licence for operating a boat in marine waters and inland waterways, foreign citizens are to take only the testing of skills under Points 1 and 2 of Article 13. In order to acquire a temporary licence for operating a boat in marine waters, foreign citizens are to take the testing of skills under Points 1.a) and 2.a) of Article 13. In order to acquire a temporary licence for operating a boat in inland waterways, foreign citizens are to take only the testing of skills under Points 1.b) and 2.b) of Article 13.
#Foreign citizens who have successfully passed the testing of skills from the paragraph above are granted a temporary licence for operating a boat issued by the Slovenian Maritime Directorate and signed by an authorised person.

For Individuals who are granted Boatmaster's Certificate without the examination:

#Application of settled administrative fee,
#Photograph (size prescribed for a travel document),
#And one of the following documents:
*authenticated certificate
*the power of the name
*Certificate of Officer rank.

==Eligibility==
*Boatmasters without the exam is granted to persons who:

#Acquired professional qualifications navigation technician or mechanical engineer or marine engineer - marine direction;
#Passed the examination for a merchant seaman in the deck department or examination of an officer in the engineering department;
#Slovenian Army Navy officers are trained to operate the vessel.

*A person who operates a boat with an engine power of 7.35 kW and up to 7 meters in length or watercraft must have a certificate of the examination and must be aged at least 16 years of age.

*A person may manage rowing boat and sail boat lengths up to 7 meters without a certificate of the examination.
