#To obtain a certified copy of a divorce certificate, you will need to file a request from the court office where the case was started. If you do not know where in Canada your divorce was started you may contact the Central Registry of Divorce (address and contact number provided below). The CRDP can provide you with your divorce registry number. Note: They do not have copies of divorce certificates. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;For divorce granted prior to 1979, documentation can be obtained from the Archives of Ontario. Archives staff will ask for the year the divorce was granted, the court location and the court file number. If you do not have those information, you should contact the court office or the Central Registry of Divorce Proceedings.&lt;br /&gt;
#You may file your request in person or through a representative. You may also write to the court office to ask for a copy of your certificate.&lt;br /&gt;
#When you file your request in person do not forget to bring a valid identification. The registry personnel may ask for your ID in order to confirm your identity and make sure that you have the right to obtain the certificate. &lt;br /&gt;
#Also make sure that  you can provided these following information which will make searching for the record easier: &lt;br /&gt;
##divorce registry number&lt;br /&gt;
##the name of both parties&lt;br /&gt;
##the year of the judgment&lt;br /&gt;
#The clerk will inform you when your certificate will be ready.&lt;br /&gt;
