#All licenses issued by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and expiring on the 31st day of December of the year it is issued will be renewable annually, Applications should be done atleast one month before the expiry of current license. #Application for renewal of licences will be made to the Board in writing by filling the forms obtainable at Pharmacy and Poisons Board offices.
#Upon obtaining the application form, the applicant should legibly complete the forms, attach the relevant supporting documentation as listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page. The complete file should be submitted to the Pharmacy and Poisons Board office at this address: The Registrar, Pharmacy and Poisons Board Lenana Road, P. O. Box 27663-00506, NAIROBI, KENYA.
#Upon submission of the application, the board registrar will check for discrepancies or ineligibility in the application documents. If a discrepancy that cannot be immediately corrected exists in any of the documents, the application and all the submitted documents will be returned to the applicant and should not be re-submitted until the discrepancy has been rectified corrected.
#The application shall be accompanied by proof of payment of the renewal fee as may be prescribed by the board, fee sould be channelled using the board preferable payment method and proof of payment should be submitted to the board to be validated.
#During the document evaluation phase, the Board may arrange for a Good Manufacturing Practices inspection of the manufacturing site in case of quality issues in the market.
#Having considered all factors and matters relating to the application the Board will either;
#Issue a the license for pharmaceutical wholesale dealers or,
#Advise the applicant in writing, in case of an unsuccessful application, and clearly state the reason the application was unsuccessful.
#Upon receipt of the application dossier, the board will evaluate the application file and the applicant will be advised in writing on whether the application was successful or not.
#Where the board is not satisfied that the application meets the requirements for the application, it shall reject the application and notify the applicant thereof in writing, stating the reasons for the rejection.
#The applicant is notified via a phone call or a letter when the license is ready to be collected.
#The time frame accumulatively for processing the application is usually 14 working days.
#The license shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the board deems fit to impose in each case, and such terms and conditions or requirements shall be endorsed on the License.
#Applicant will be required to collect the license at the Pharmacy and Poisons Board office. Note: While collecting the license the applicant will be required to produce their identity document an approval letter to be validated by the Registrar's office.

*The issued registration documents i.e the certificates (wholesale dealer license, certificate for registration of premises, and annual practice license) expire on the 31st day of December in the year of issue and, if not renewed, the registration shall become void.
*Any application for renewal of licenses that is lodged later than 31st December will attract a penalty for late application and this will be in the form of a percentage of the standard application fees as may be prescribed by the Board. Currently, the penalty is 10% and is levied on a monthly incremental basis from January onwards.
