==Procedure==
*Applicant must be registered at the consulate. 
*Applicant must provide documents which show three (3) years of legal and uninterrupted residence in the country you want to change residence from. 
*The CCR is granted once only to the Head of the family (spouse and minor children are not entitled to this). It is valid for six (6) months from the date of issue and cannot be extended without the approval of Algerian Customs (Direction Generale des Douanes). 
*Declared items on the inventory list should under no circumstances be amended. The addition of other items may result in the cancellation of the CCR by Algerian Customs.

General Conditions
*Age (e) over 19 years
*Be legally resident and registered (e) at the consulate since the month
three years
*Not having received a CCR with a diplomatic or consular post or in
his name or in that of a spouse.
*The removal of beneficiary registration records shall be effective upon
obtaining C.C.R 
Admission furniture, personal effects and vehicles 
*Maximum permissible value including vehicle
*For employees and assimilated against the value of 2 million dinars
*For students 1500000 DA
The motor vehicle is admitted free of duties and taxes 
Following conditions: 
*Putting into circulation for less than three years
*Cylinder equal to or less than 1800cm3 the gasoline vehicle
*Cylinder equal to or less than 2100 cm3 for diesel vehicle
Vehicles with the cylinder between 2100 and 2500 for diesel and 
1800 and 2100 for gasoline, are required to pay 25% for the 
T.S.A

*For employees and related workers, stamp duty: 
$ 3.75, plus a fee determined based on the declared value of the inventory are including the vehicle.
*For students, stamp duty: $ 3.75 plus a fee established in accordance 
50% of the declared value of the inventory, including the vehicle. 
*Certificate of removal $ 0.38

==Need for the Document==
The "Certificat de Changement de Residence- CCR" or Change of Residence Certificate was established in order to enable Algerian expatriates planning to return home for good, after having lived at least three years abroad to be able to take back their personal belongings including a car, without paying custom duty and other taxes.

==Information which might help==
It advised to get an immunization course or booster against typhoid and s poliomyelitis. Malaria risk is limited. Hepatitis A, B, diphtheria and tuberculosis are all present. 
Note: In 2003, there were three reported outbreaks of bubonic plague in western Algeria: El Kehailia, south of Oran, and in the areas of Mascara and Sidi Bel Abbes; the last reported case was on July 10 2003. 
At this time there are not any HIV/AIDS entry restrictions for visitors to or foreign residents of Algeria. 
Prescription medications are not always readily available and names and dosages may also be different. 
Individuals with physical disabilities will find limited accommodations severely lacking.
