  • This service is provided by the General Directorate of Civil Defense for issuing a commercial license or its renewal.

Apply In-Person

  1. Individuals/ Companies/ establishment who seek to get the safety approval from the Civil Defense can do this by making an application with the General Directorate of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Interior (MOI).
  2. The first step to do this is to approach the General Directorate of Civil Defense offices where you will be issued with a Commercial License Approval Form to fill and submit. The application form can be also obtained from the MOI Website or can be accessed using the following link: Commercial License Approval Form and filled beforehand.
  3. Fill in all the required information correctly, print the completed application form, and then attach the required documents. These include:
    • Copy of Establishment card
    • Copy of License Holder's ID
    • Building/premises plan
    • Maintenance contract for fire and early warning systems
    • Copy of commercial license
    • Copy building ownership or tenancy contract.
  4. The General Department of Civil Defense Officers will go through the application to determine if everything is in order.
  5. They will also conduct inspections to the premises intended to do the commercial activity to determine if safety protocols have been adhered to. They will also inspect the fire safety equipment to check if they are up to standard.
  6. If everything is in order, a certificate of approval will be prepared by the civil defence officers and issued to the applicant.
  7. The applicant is to collect the certificate from the Civil Defense Department offices, after completing the payment process.
  8. The whole process takes a period of approximately one week to complete.
