Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Prepare all the required documents and visit the cotton council office to obtain the councils consent
2. Submit your application showing the intention to import and pay the required application fees
3. The council will review the application and if it meet the standard requirements they will approve the application and request a phytosanitary certificate form you
4. Go to the department of Agriculture research to obtain the phytosanitary certificate and submit it to the cotton council
5. Then the council will give consent on your application and a recommendation letter to the Ministry of industry and trade recommending the issuing of the permit
6. The ministry of Industry and Trade will prepare and issue you the permit

• Declaration of value Form 19
• Bill of lading/cargo manifest for sea and land cargo or air way bill for air cargo
• Shippers’ or freight invoice
• Certificate of origin (to benefit from preferential trade treatment)
• Phytosanitary certificate
• Identification documents
• Taxpayer Identification Number
