Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The applicant has to visit the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC) office Department of Trade to obtain the application form. Contacts Link
2. Then, fill the application form and attach all the required documents to it in a single file.
3. Go to the MITC department of Trade to submit the completed application.
4. The assisting officer will go through the application to verify, if it meets all the requirements or not.
5.  If the application is correct, the applicant will be directed to the accounts office to pay the application fees amounting to $150.
6. Then the Department will cross-check if the application is already in their system or should have a new entry to avoid duplications.
7.  Now, the application is sent to the Chief Executive officer, where it will be signed with the minister.
8. The exporter can get a certificate after five days.
9. After that, copies of letters are sent to the Reserve Bank of Malawi, the Malawi Revenue Authority, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and the Applicant notifying the issuance of the certificate.

All Companies are eligible to apply for a Certificate of Registration to Benefit from Export Incentives.

The charges will be $150.
