Introduction

This procedure provides you information about how to obtain a planning permission in Anguilla.

Instructions

If you are intending to carry out any development and in any doubt as to whether planning permission is required you should contact an officer at the Department of Physical Planning ( Tel: (264) 497-5392 or 5064) .

Required Information

A list which displays the kind of information which is required to complete the procedure.
e.g.
1. Date of Birth.
2. City or County of Birth.

Procedure

If you do need planning permission you will need to complete an application form and send it with the necessary plans to the Department of Physical Planning. Following are steps that has to be followed for doing the same.

  1. You should submit three copies of the completed application form together with three copies of each plan that forms part of your application. This number is necessary in order to enable the Principal Planning Officer to carry out the necessary consultations he has to make.
  2. Once a valid application has been received, the Principal Planning Officer will carry out the consultations he deems appropriate. If necessary the Principal Planning Officer may ask you or your agent for additional information relating to your proposal if this is needed before a decision can be made.
  3. You should normally have received the decision on your application within eight weeks and that decision may be approved, with or without conditions or it may be refused. The reasons for refusal have to be clearly stated. Should you be aggrieved by the terms of the decision you have a right of appeal to the Executive Council.
  4. The following plans must be submitted along with each application for permission.
    • Location Plan
    • Site Plan
    • Front & Side Elevations
    • Floor Plans
    • Subdivision Plan
    • Detailed Drawings for Advertisement
    • Height and Building Setbacks
